1. Noosa week with family: first few days

Sat 11th May 2024

All of our family, except for Tom, were spending the week in an AirBnB at Noosa Heads. Matt, Annabelle and Ted had already spent a week in the area, Ali, Brett and Charlie drove up from Tamworth and Mark and I flew up on the Saturday morning and collected a car from Brisbane airport.

We all arrived to the house near 3pm and were pleased to find it a large, clean, well appointed place and ideally located for proximity to the beach and the Hastings street shops. There was an enormous lounge, dining and kitchen area that opened on to a huge covered deck complete with a lounge and dining table providing ample room for all the family to relax in comfort. This entertaining area was located on the first level, above the garage, laundry and entry way, and offered spectacular views out through the tree canopy to Little Cove beach and back to the main Noosa Beach. There was a second living area on this level with a TV. The master bedroom was huge and had a large walk-in wardrobe and bathroom area and was located on the third/top floor. There was an ensuite queen room, another queen room and the fourth bedroom had two single beds and these were all located on the second/middle floor.

Everyone was rather tired after their efforts in getting to the house so we headed to the Noosa Surf Club for a quick and early dinner. We thought 5 pm was early to be having dinner but the surf club was filled to the brim with other patrons doing exactly the same thing. It was then back to the house for a nightcap on the balcony before we all turned in for an early night.

Sun 12th may 2024: Mothers Day

It was a beautiful, sunny and mild morning making a pleasant change from the continuous rain we’d had back home. Ali, Brett, Mark, Charlie and myself went for a walk and Matt, Annabelle and Ted ventured out to the Noosa Farmers markets. We all gathered again for lunch back at the house and to allow sleep time for the little ones. The afternoon was  split with some heading to browse the shops and with myself, Mark and Charlie hitting the beach. Little Cove beach is literally a 2 minute walk down from our house and is a great spot for young and old. Charlie had a ball chasing the seagulls and jumping the waves with Mark.

Dinner was a lovely and relaxed affair with take-away pizzas from Zachary’s on the deck after the little two went to bed.

Mon 13th May 2024

It was a most glorious morning so the bike riders set off for an early ride and I did some morning yoga. The non-riders then set out for a morning walk before some of s caught up with the riders at Providore on Hastings for a coffee. It was then back to the house for the little ones to rest up before we headed down to Little Cove Beach for an afternoon swim.

I had thought Mark and I might walk down to Hastings Street to find somewhere for lunch but the views from our house and the comfort of chilling out on the deck burst that short though bubble. The house is truly so luxuriously comfortable that you don’t want to leave. The deck is north facing and bathed in beautiful sunshine all day.

The afternoon swim was glorious and the two little boys had a ball playing in the surf and on the sand. It was near 5 pm by the time we were all back at the house and showered and we had another glorious evening and sunset that provided the perfect backdrop to our BBQ dinner on the back deck. You can’t do a whole lot in the day when you have two little people under the age of two, but this is the most magical place in the world to spend the time doing it!
