Tues 14th May & Wed 15th May
Tuesday was another glorious morning and the first part of the day was a bit of a repeat from yesterday. Matt and Mark set off for a bike ride and Annabelle and I joined them afterwards for a coffee. Brett, Ali and Charlie took off in search of a park for Charlie to have a play. One thing that Noosa does not have is a decent playground for young children. I suppose that gives you an idea of the demographic that the area caters for.
Annabelle and I had some pampering in the afternoon whilst the others went to the beach and then it was home for another night of dining in.
Wednesday was a bit gloomy so the boys didn’t ride but rather we went on a morning walk whilst Ali, Brett and Charlie hit the park. The rest of the day was rather quiet and then Mark and I babysat for the evening whilst the others went out for dinner.
Thursday 16th May
Thursday morning was overcast so we decided we all head to Coolum to see if we could find a better park for Charlie. It was an improvement on the one at Noosa but not up to the standard Tamworth family enjoyed back at home.
The afternoon was spent at the beach and this was followed by a delicious slow cooked lamb dinner prepared by Matt. It was our last meal all together as the Tamworth crew were leaving tomorrow afternoon and we had a lovely evening of good food, wine and company on the deck.
The rain started to come down heavily by the time we had finished our meal but it was very atmospheric sitting out on the deck, with the tin roof roof, as we had the delightful backdrop of noise as we all chatted. This house has been such a great design for our family holiday given that it had so much outdoor undercover space. It has made me realise that this is an important feature to factor in for any future family holiday bookings.
Fri 17th May & Sat 18th May
It had poured raining overnight but we were lucky to wake to a relatively clear morning; there was little bit of cloud but good glimpses of the sun as well.
The different schedules of the two youngest people in the household meant that one family went out at 6.30 am and the other at 7:30am. Mark and I took Charlie down to the beach after breakfast so that Ali and Brett could pack up for their journey home today. Once we took Charlie home, we then picked up Ted and went for a walk to Dolphin Point, which is roughly a one hour round trip. After that, Mark and I had a swim before we all gathered back at the house to farewell Ali, Brett and Charlie.
The rest of us spent the afternoon packing up before we headed down for an early dinner at 5 pm at Locale. The food was delicious and we were home well in time to watch the Swans versus Carlton.
It had poured rain again overnight but we woke on Saturday to a spectacular sunny morning without a cloud in the sky. We got a last walk in for coffee before heading off at 11 am on our various journeys home: Matt set off to drive home via Coffs Harbour and Mark, Annabelle, Ted and I headed to Brisbane airport for our flight home to Sydney. Ted had a great time on our journey home as there was a flood of people for him to check out; both in the airport and on the flight. A big shout out to Noah and Tom, our stewards on the Virgin flight home. They were very helpful with Ted and Noah entertained Ted for the entire descent into Sydney. They well surpassed the unhelpful stewards on Annabelle and Ted’s QANTAS flight out of Sydney.
It had a been a wonderful week with the family in Noosa and the the only disappointment was that we didn’t have Tom and Tara with us for some part. The weather had been good and the house was very comfortable.
