A few days in Narooma

Colleen, David, Mark and myself had a few days down in Narooma once Covid-19 travel restrictions lifted.

Fri 12th June
We left Canberra by 9:30 am and had brunch at The Albion Cafe in Braidwood. After that we made a brief stop at Mogo before heading to Narooma.
We arrived at our AirBnB apartment in Narooma at around 2:30 pm and were pleased to find this a lovely and spacious venue with views out over the inlet. The apartment had three bedrooms, and each with an en suite bathroom, plus a generous lounge and dining room and balcony.
Our afternoon involved a visit to the Million Dollar View, O’Brien’s pub followed by a bit of food shopping before our 5.30 pm Zoom catch up with Aqto bike friends. Dinner then followed our Zoom and was BBQ Gundaroo sausages and salad.
Sat 13th June
It was beautiful clear morning with a spectacular sunrise. The plan for the morning was to head to Moruya so that the boys could do a bike ride whilst Colleen and I did a walk and checked out the Markets. All went to plan expect the Markets were not on due to Covid restrictions. The time was filled in easily though with a browse through our favourite store; Harris Scarfe. The boys caught up with us after their ride at the Vulcan cafe where we had brunch. We headed back to the apartment after that and the afternoon was filled with a walk for some and blogging for Mary.
Mark had discovered that the Quarterdeck cafe stocked his favourite beer, Fire Rock, so we headed there after 4 pm to enjoy the sunset from the cafe overlooking the water. We then walked back towards home for our 6 pm dinner booking at Sorriso, a few doors up from our apartment.
Sunday 14th June
It was a bit of a cloudy start to the day but the boys still headed in early for a bike ride with friends around Broulee. Colleen and I waited a bit and were lucky to have sunshine for out walk out to the breakwater.
The boys arrived home around 11 am and we then readied for our 10 min drive the road to the Tilba Winery for lunch. This proved to be one of those magical days; the setting was beautiful, the sun shining, lunch was great and the live music even better, We could not have ordered a better day! After lunch we hopped off our bench dining table and to some couch cane chairs to continue soaking up the music and doing some interesting people watching. This is a must-do activity for any Sunday when in the area; check to see if there is live music though as this really made the day.
Monday 15th June
There was another glorious sunrise to greet us this morning. The boys headed off for a bike ride around 8 am and Colleen and I went for a walk. We all met up after 9 am at the cafe downstairs  from our apartment, The View, aptly named because it offers one of the best views in Narooma.
The plan for the day was to visit Bodalla and then head on to O’Brien’s Boat shed at Tuross. Sadly, being a Monday, there was little open at Bodalla and nothing at Tuross. So it was back to Narooma and to the million dollar view at O’Brien’s for lunch.
Colleen then headed out for a walk and I went to do do my bit for Spend with Them by supporting a local jewelry business. It was a quiet night at home for our last night with another BBQ.
We’ve loved our time down here for our short stay and would definitely return to this apartment if ever back in Narooma!
