Dec 25th: Christmas Day: Bondi to Bali
We were swapping one beach for another today. Our Christmas morning started on Bondi Beach but the day ended with us in Bali. Tom, Annabelle, Matt, Mark and myself enjoyed a morning walk along the beach before heading home for brunch.
We were hoping the four of us, Annabelle, Matt, Mark and myself, would fit into one car with our luggage and with some smart engineering from mark we were were successful. We did look like the Griswald’s as we set off for the airport and I regret to say that I failed to capture a shot of the car!
Our Jetstar flight left at 5.30 pm and so we had plenty of time in the Lounge to relax beforehand. Andre was even able to sneak in to join us.
The flight was only 5 1/2 hours and rather uneventful which was a good thing. Taking a taxi from the airport is a much more stream lined process these days as you register and pay at a kiosk before hand which eliminates all of the hassle and haggling. Our fare per taxi to the hotel was 200,000 IDR which translated to about $20.
We had selected a two bedroom Villa within the Royal Beach at Seminyak and were thoroughly delighted with this option. It was about 9 pm when we arrived and so was dark and the Villa looked beautiful with all of the external ground and pool lighting. Inside was a treat too with two large bedrooms, each with a large bathroom and and a spacious lounge living area. What a treat to have this to ourselves for the next week!
