Seminyak, Indonesia

The morning started the same as all of the others; various forms of exercise and then we all met up at breakfast at 8.30am before heading to the pool.

Mark and Tom went to the Sports Bar in the afternoon to watch the Swans whilst Ali and I went into Seminyak to look around the shops.

We all met up after the Swans game and had cocktails by the beach before heading up to the Samaya resort restaurant, ‘Breeze’, for dinner. This is a spectacular dinner venue with amazing views and food but it is quite expensive for even Bali standards. It is well worth a visit though as it is a rather amazing venue. We had a bit of a hiccup when making the booking though. I had asked for a window table, through the Balinese waiter who was helping us with the reservation. We were quite perplexed when they replied that there were no window seats available. With a little more gentle probing though we found out the reason for this: there are no windows in the restaurant at all! It is an open air restaurant, like the one at our hotel. So, we did end up getting a good table position after all once this ‘lost in translation’ episode was sorted.

The others spent the afternoon shopping and had an early dinner next door at ‘Gado Gado’ because Nick and Eleni were leaving at 7.30pm to catch their flight home.
