Lazy days….

Seminyak, Indonesia

Dec 27th: A hot afternoon in Seminyak

The four of us started the morning at the gym before brekky and then heading back to the Villa for some pool time. Annabelle and I opted for the 11 am Aqua Aerobics which was only 20 minutes but lots of fun. The four of us then decided to visit Seminyak in the early afternoon which proved to be a big mistake due to the heat and humidity. Matt baled out rather quickly, followed by Mark and myself but Annabelle showed great determination and last another hour after us!

Our Villa pool gave us all great relief for the afternoon before we headed over to the hotel’s pool-side bar for cocktails and then on to the roof top restaurant at the Anantara for dinner. The Anantara is conveniently located right next door to our hotel so a very easy walk. The roof top bar and restaurant are located on level 5 of the building making ideal this an ideal venue for viewing the Seminyak sunset.

Dec 28th: Laurie & Carroll came to visit.

The morning was rather overcast and with the odd bit of drizzle and so Annabelle and I decided to put this period to good use by doing some shopping. Strolling the streets in the heat with full sun is almost a safety risk to our bodies as well as wallets, as we discovered yesterday, and is best to be avoided. We caught a taxi out in a southerly direction along Jalan Legian and then strolled our way back northwards checking out all the wares before finishing off with a well earned foot massage at Spa Bali.

The afternoon was spent by the pool before Mark and Mary headed out to dinner with friends and old neighbours, Laurie and Carroll, who were holidaying down in Nusa Dua. We had cocktails next door at the roof top bar of the Anantara before heading to dinner next door at Gado Gado. Dinner was a bit of a disappointment, given our previous experiences, and I suspect the venue has changed hands or has a different management. It was lovely to catch up with Laurie and Carroll though and share their good family news about a recent wedding and their first grandchild being on the way.
